EVALUATION HELPER
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The incumbent of this position performs unskilled tasks requiring some physical endurance in aiding and assisting trainees during emergency services skills training courses conducted at the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services Training and Operations Center. Additionally, the incumbent may be required to physically act as “patient” or “victim” in group situations. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the course instructor and a Certified Instructor Coordinator, in accordance with well established procedures. Supervision is not a responsibility of this position. Performs related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (Illustrative only)
- Assists trainees with equipment and performance of skilled tasks, such as holding a splint while a trainee attaches it, holding a “patient’s” head while a collar is applied, etc.;
- Assists instructors with various tasks, such as distributing materials, room set-up, etc.;
- Acts as “patient” or “victim” for demonstration and/or skills practice purposes as needed;
- Performs a variety of related activities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either
- Graduation from high school or possession of a comparable diploma; or
- One (1) year work experience in any field.
