We asked our followers on Facebook and Instagram, what is your favorite place to visit in Putnam County, and we got some great responses.
Each month we will want to hear from you on your favorite places to visit (attractions, historical sites, restaurants, shops etc.) and we will highlight them.

2) Countryside Kitchen

3) White Pond
Located in the Town of Kent, is a 129-acre pond. It is a beautiful location to catch largemouth bass, chain pickerel, walleye, yellow perch and bluegill.
From the White Pond Parking Area, wheelchair accessible features include the:
Fishing/viewing platform
The fishing pier is 230 feet from the parking area.

Also known as the "Town of Lakes." Beautiful hiking trails and crystal-clear lakes for fishing.
◊ The Putnam County Trailway
This 9-mile section of the Empire State Trail is an off-road paved travel that is a great place for biking, walking, running, and dog walking. This scenic rail trail showcases wooded areas, beautiful lakes and reservoirs, and small communities for a variety of scenic views. The trailway travels from Brewster to Mahopac and along the way there are several designated parking spots as well as plenty of local businesses just a short distance of the trail route for you to discover.
