ICS Training Information

COMPLETE ICS TRAINING

You must complete IS 100 Training.

Course Descriptions-
IS-100.c: Must Complete
Introduction to the Incident Command System, introduces the Incident Command System
(ICS) and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training. This course describes the history,
features and principles, and organizational structure of the Incident Command System. It also
explains the relationship between ICS and the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

IS-700.a: Strongly Recommended
Overviews the National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS provides a consistent
nationwide template to enable all government, private-sector, and nongovernmental organizations to
work together during domestic incidents.

  1. Go to https://training.fema.gov/is/
  2. Hover mouse over Independent Study
  3. Click 15-100.c Introduction to Incident Command System (on the far left, first row)
  4. Click on Interactive Web Based Course under Take This Course
  5. Complete each section
  6. At the end of lesson 6, there will be a button to click to take the Final Exam *To take the Final Exam, you will need to register and receive an SID#*
  7. Click the link shown in the picture below
  8. Scroll down to How do I obtain my FEMA Student Identification (SID) number? and then the link in Step 1.
  9. You will be redirected to the image below, click Register for a FEMA SID to register. Fill out the form.
  10. You will be redirected to a page with your SID number
  11. Your password will be sent to your email
  12. the results of the final exam will be sent to your email in 1-2 business days
  13. When the exam is passed, remember to print out the certificate and upload a copy of your certificate below.

  4. Complete all sections of the course
  5. At the end of lesson 6 there will be a button to take the Final Exam
  6. Login with your SID# and password
  7. Complete the Final Exam
  8. The results will be mailed to you after 1-2 business days
  9. When the exam is passed, remember to print out the certificate and upload a copy of your certificate here

ABOUT US
The Putnam County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) recruits and trains volunteers to support the county in the event of an emergency or disaster. Their mission is to serve the community by strengthening public health, improving emergency response capabilities and building community resiliency. The Putnam County MRC is one of nearly 1,000 MRCs nationwide that organize locally.
