NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the County Executive of the County of Putnam at Room 300 of the County Office Building, 40 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, New York 10512 on the 28th day of May, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. concerning:

A LOCAL LAW

Amending the Charter of the County of Putnam, as approved and adopted by the Putnam County Legislature on May 7, 2024 by resolution #102, by repealing Article 5, entitled “Executive Department,” and adding new Article 5, entitled “General Services Department.” This new Department merges the Department of Purchasing, the Department of IT/GIS, and other related central services of the County. This law creates the position of Commissioner of General Services and enumerates the position’s qualifications, powers, and duties. The Division of Information Technology/Geographic Information Systems is created within the General Services Department as an independent division, similarly enumerating the qualifications, powers, and duties of the Director of Information Technology/Geographic Information Systems.

At the aforesaid time and place all persons interested in the subject matter thereof will be heard concerning same. This Local Law shall take effect forty-five (45) days after its passage and is subject to permissive referendum.
