We asked our followers on Facebook and Instagram, what is your favorite place to visit in Putnam County, and we got some great responses.
Each month we will want to hear from you on your favorite places to visit (attractions, historical sites, restaurants, shops etc.) and we will highlight them.

1) Tompkins Corner Cultural Center
The Tompkins Corners Cultural Center is a nonprofit organization formed in 2014, located in the historic Tompkins Corners Methodist Church in Putnam Valley, NY. Their mission is to preserve the historic Tompkins Corners Church and to promote and develop community and cultural interest through the arts and cultural activities open to the public. The culture center holds events throughout the year; concerts, lectures and poetry read.

2) Putnam History Museum
The mission of the Putnam History Museum is to collect, preserve, interpret, and present the history of Putnam County, Philipstown, the West Point Foundry, and the Hudson Highlands. Through exhibitions, programs, and events, the museum uses its collections to engage the community with the vibrant history of our region, and to foster greater understanding of the role it has played in the growth of our nation.

3) Southeast History Museum
Located approximately 60 miles north of New York City, the village of Brewster is conveniently accessible by car or the Harlem Line of Metro North Railroad. Discover the fascinating history and artistry of our collection at Southeast Museum. We offer a unique cultural experience for all visitors. Explore our galleries, attend our events, and learn more about the stories behind each piece. We invite you to join us on a journey through time and explore the rich history of Brewster, Southeast, and Putnam County, New York.

4) The Cornish Estate Ruins in the Hudson Highlands State Park
A mostly undeveloped preserve of over 8,000 acres with over 70 miles of trail, Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve consists of a series of separate parcels of land stretching from Annsville Creek in Peekskill, north to Dennings Point in Beacon. The Cornish Estate (also known as Northgate) built around 1910 was owned for 20 years NYC businessman Edward Cornish.

5) Little Stony Point
Head out on this 0.9-mile loop trail near Cold Spring, New York. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 21 minutes to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking and walking.

6) Boscobel House & Gardens
Built between 1804 and 1808, Boscobel was originally the dream house of wealthy Loyalist States Dykman, who worked in the British Army's Quartermaster Corps for most of the American Revolutionary war, keeping the accounts of various quartermasters. Boscobel’s interiors display is one of the finest collections of decorative arts and New York furniture from the Federal period. Overlooking Constitution Marsh toward the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Boscobel’s landscape showcases dramatic views of the Hudson River. See remnants of the “Great Chain” that were used as a naval tactic to prevent British vessels from sailing up the river during the war. Boscobel House and Gardens welcomes groups of all types and sizes to experience Hudson Valley design, history and nature.

7) Ridge Ranch
Tour the farm grounds and meet all the amazing farm animals; miniature donkeys, goats, chickens, highland cows and more. They over many unique experiences such as goat yoga, paint night and a kissing booth with the animals.
