Carlin Returns as Commissioner of Finance
CARMEL, NY - Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne today announced the immediate appointment of Bill Carlin as the Commissioner of Finance for Putnam County, following the departure of Commissioner Michael Lewis.
Bill Carlin, who previously served as the County’s Finance Commissioner, will return to lead the Department of Finance, bringing with him decades of experience in the role. Carlin’s extensive knowledge of the County’s financial systems and his deep commitment to fiscal responsibility make him the ideal candidate to guide the department during this transition period.
“I am thrilled to welcome Bill back to the Finance Department. His experience and dedication to the County will be invaluable as we continue to move forward with our financial operations,” said County Executive Kevin Byrne. “Bill’s leadership will ensure a seamless continuation of the County’s financial functions and provide the stability needed during this time of change.”
Over his many years of service, Carlin played a crucial role in maintaining the County’s fiscal health, managing budgets, and overseeing financial reporting. His leadership was instrumental in implementing best practices in financial management.
“I am honored to be asked to return and serve as Commissioner of Finance,” said Bill Carlin. “I look forward to working with the Executive’s office, the Legislature, and the dedicated team in the Finance Department to ensure the continued financial health and efficiency of Putnam County.”
