Due to ongoing snow removal operations and winter weather conditions, all non-essential County government offices will open on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
- Offices that normally open at 8:00 AM will now open at 10:00 AM.
- Offices that normally open at 9:00 AM will now open at 11:00 AM.
Our Department of Public Works crews have been working around the clock and will continue efforts throughout the night and early morning to clear snow and salt parking and walking areas.
Please take extra care when traveling to work and upon arrival:
- Drive slowly and carefully, especially in parking lots where tall snow piles may obstruct visibility.
- Watch for pedestrians and yield to them in crosswalks.
- Use caution when walking outdoors; ice and packed snow may still be present on sidewalks and steps.
- Wear appropriate footwear with good traction to help prevent slips and falls.
- Allow extra time for travel and parking.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as our crews continue their work to ensure safe access to all County facilities.
Thank you for your understanding and continued dedication.

Welcome Message
“Remember that Putnam County is home. Regardless of what may make us different as individuals, it is our respect for each-other as neighbors, our desire to step up and serve, to lend a hand, and leave this beautiful county better off than we found it. That is what makes this place so special. It is with that in mind that we as a county government are here to serve, and will always serve, with a desire to do better.” - Kevin M.
