Free Family Fishing Day
County Executive Kevin Byrne along with his son Braeden recently enjoyed a free family fishing day on the banks of Lake Gleneida in Carmel. The May 31 event was a joint effort by DEC and New York City DEP designed to encourage greater participation in fishing and outdoor recreation. Byrne also debuted the logo for the county’s family-friendly “I Fish Putnam” initiative, which will be administered through Putnam County Tourism Department.

Welcome Message
“Remember that Putnam County is home. Regardless of what may make us different as individuals, it is our respect for each-other as neighbors, our desire to step up and serve, to lend a hand, and leave this beautiful county better off than we found it. That is what makes this place so special. It is with that in mind that we as a county government are here to serve, and will always serve, with a desire to do better.” - Kevin M. Byrne | Putnam County Executive
