Putnam County Historian’s Office Releases 2025 Local History Holiday Gift Guide

11 December 2025

The Putnam County Historian’s Office is pleased to announce the release of the 2025 Local History Holiday Gift Guide, showcasing more than 20 unique gift ideas that prove—once again—that local history matters.

As the holiday season approaches, the guide offers meaningful ways to celebrate Putnam County’s heritage while supporting our region’s history museums, nonprofit historical societies, and partner organizations. A digital copy of the guide is available on the Historian’s Office homepage at www.putnamcountyny.gov/county-historian.

Inside, readers will discover an array of locally inspired gifts, including books, tote bags, mugs, bracelets, and, perhaps most importantly, membership packages that help sustain the vital work of preserving and sharing Putnam County’s rich past.

This year’s guide features offerings from: Boscobel House & Gardens; Constitution Island Association; Enoch Crosby Chapter, NSDAR; Landmarks Preservation Society of Southeast; Putnam County Historian’s Office; Putnam History Museum; Southeast Museum & the Town of Southeast; and the Historical Societies of Carmel, Kent, Patterson, and Putnam Valley.

Many items are available directly through the participating organizations, while others may be purchased through the County Historian’s online shop at https://shoppingputnamcountyny.com/historian/ and in person during public research hours: Monday-Wednesday, 10 am – 2 pm and by appointment, closed Fridays and Legal Holidays.

Welcome Message

“Remember that Putnam County is home. Regardless of what may make us different as individuals, it is our respect for each-other as neighbors, our desire to step up and serve, to lend a hand, and leave this beautiful county better off than we found it. That is what makes this place so special. It is with that in mind that we as a county government are here to serve, and will always serve, with a desire to do better.” - Kevin M.
