A LOCAL LAW
Amending the Code of County of Putnam County Entitled “APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM” in its entirety which was adopted by the Putnam County Legislature on October 5, 2022, by Resolution #187.
This Local Law
Amends the Putnam County Code by adding Chapter 117 entitled “APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM”. This law requires that contractors who intend to enter into a qualifying construction contract with the County must actively promote apprenticeship training as authorized by § 816-b of the New York Labor Law. These contractors must enter into apprenticeship agreements appropriate for the work to be performed, and which have been registered with and approved by the New York State Commissioner of Labor in accordance with Article 23 of the New York State Labor Law.
