NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Legislature of the County of Putnam in the Historic Courthouse, 44 Gleneida Ave., Carmel, New York, at 6:30 p.m. on February 7, 2023, concerning:

A LOCAL LAW

Amending in its entirety Chapter 220, Article 10, of the Code of the County of Putnam entitled, “Exemption for Qualified Members of Volunteer Fire Departments and Ambulance Corps,” which amendment was proposed for adoption by the Putnam County Legislature on January 19, 2023, by Resolution #26.

This Local Law:

Amends the Putnam County Code by repealing the implementation of benefits available under New York State Real Property Tax Law (RPTL)Section 466-c and implementing RPTL Section § 466-a to provide an expanded, partial exemption of real property tax for qualified members of volunteer fire departments and ambulance corps in Putnam County.

NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that at the aforesaid time and place, all persons interested in the subject matter thereof will be heard concerning same.
