NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the County Executive of the County of Putnam at Room 300 of the County Office Building, 40 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, New York 10512 on the _27th__ day of   April 2022   at _4:30 and 6:30 p.m._____ concerning:

A LOCAL LAW

Amending the Code of the County of Putnam by adding a new Chapter 198, entitled “SCHOOL BUS CAMERA DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM” in its entirety which was adopted by the Putnam County Legislature on April 5, 2022, by Resolution #65.

This Local Law Amends the Code of the County of Putnam by adding a new Chapter 198 entitled “SCHOOL BUS CAMERA DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM” thus establishing a School Bus Camera Demonstration Program as authorized by section 1174-a of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Sections 198-1 through 198-11, would regulate and impose monetary liability on owners of vehicles when the operator of said vehicle fails to stop for a properly marked school bus in violation of section 1174 of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law in Putnam County. The County may implement such program by installing and operating school bus photo violation monitoring systems on school buses pursuant to agreements with school districts within the County.
