Outdoor Exercise on the Putnam Trailway
It is a beautiful time of the year to do exercise outside. Instead of going to the gym to do cardio, do a workout on the Putnam County Trailway.
(Access points in Brewster, Carmel and Mahopac.)
A nine-mile stretch of the Empire State Trail, the Putnam County Trailway travels from Brewster to Mahopac and provides magnificent water views of the Middle Branch Reservoir, Lake Gleneida and Lake Mahopac. You can bike the trail all the way to New York City or just stick to the Putnam portion for a fun run with some rolling hills. There is plenty of stops along the trail to rest and fuel up such as Country Kitchen, Cameron’s Deli, Taco Land, Thai Golden, Four Brothers, Bliss Dair Bar & Grill, Freight House Café etc.
