Putnam County Clerk Swears in 28 New Citizens Wednesday September 10 2025
Putnam County Clerk Michael C. Bartolotti hosted a Naturalization Ceremony on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Putnam County Historic Courthouse. Clerk Bartolotti administered the Oath of Allegiance to 17 new citizens from 16 countries.
The Honorable Joseph J. Spofford, Jr., served as the officiating Judge and offered court remarks. VFW Post 5491 in Mahopac advanced the colors, Father Robert Carolan from St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel led the prayer and Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne did the welcoming remarks. Karl Rohde, Director of the Putnam County Veterans Service Agency led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. Margaret Purcigliotti from the Putnam County Health Department sang a rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner and God Bless America. Lauren Shields, Community & Government Affairs Liaison from LiveonNY was the Guest Speaker. Pictures from the ceremony can be found below!

The County Clerk is the County Registrar and Clerk of the Supreme and County Courts, in addition to other responsibilities.
Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Summer hours (mid-June through mid-September) are 8am to 4pm. His office is where you will find: maps, papers in actions and special proceedings of both civil and criminal courts, judgment and lien dockets, and other books and documents related to these matters.)
