What is your favorite place to visit in Putnam County?? (November Edition)

We asked our followers on Facebook and Instagram, what is your favorite place to visit in Putnam County, and we got some great responses.

Each month we will want to hear from you on your favorite places to visit (attractions, historical sites, restaurants, shops etc.) and we will highlight them.

Plan a visit to the following followers’ suggestions:

1) Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park
Putnam County Veteran Memorial Park is open 7 Days a week 10:00 am - 7:30 pm. See the veteran memorials displayed throughout the park. Look at the magnificent M-60 Tank and Cobra AH-IG/S/F Helicopter. Enjoy a refreshing dip, go fishing, and eat lunch at the numerous picnic tables. There is a jungle gym also for the kids.

2) George’s Place
Serving breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. Located with a view overlooking Lake Gleneida, George's Place is the place to go if you are looking for a fast and delicious meal at a low price. Fun note: In April 2015, the restaurant received a re-modeling by the Food Network show called American Diner Revival, featuring American television host Ty Pennington & Chef Amanda Freitag.

3) Kent Public Library
Libraries are a vessel of knowledge and the books within them allow readers to utilize their imagination. Kent Public Library offers daily activities for their patrons.

4) Town of Putnam Valley
Also known as the "Town of Lakes." Beautiful hiking trails and crystal-clear lakes for fishing.  

5) Garrison Art Center
Garrison Art Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit arts & education organization. Since its founding, the Garrison Art Center has become a vital community resource that actively promotes the arts and arts education in the Hudson Valley. Annually, the GAC hosts ten exhibitions in their galleries, featuring solo, juried, students, and member shows that showcase over 600 emerging, mid-careers, and established regional artists.
