Proclamation for CRPS/RSD Awareness Day
Last week, Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne signed a proclamation recognizing CRPS/RSD Awareness Day, demonstrating the county’s commitment to raising awareness for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD). In support of this cause, Byrne directed the Department of Public Works to illuminate the County Historic Courthouse in orange, the color symbolizing CRPS/RSD awareness.
“CRPS/RSD is a challenging medical condition that impacts many lives, including some of our own residents here in Putnam County,” said Byrne. “I’m grateful for the advocacy and efforts of Mahopac’s Marianne Chaluisan, who has been a strong voice in raising awareness for this cause. By shining a light—literally and figuratively—we aim to educate and bring hope to those affected by this condition.”

Welcome Message
“Remember that Putnam County is home. Regardless of what may make us different as individuals, it is our respect for each-other as neighbors, our desire to step up and serve, to lend a hand, and leave this beautiful county better off than we found it. That is what makes this place so special. It is with that in mind that we as a county government are here to serve, and will always serve, with a desire to do better.” - Kevin M.
