Notice of Public Comment Period for Putnam County’s Climate Change Adaptation & Resilience Plan (CCARP)
Putnam County invites residents, businesses, community organizations, and those who work in the County to review and comment on the Draft Climate Change Adaptation & Resilience Plan (CCARP). The public comment period is now open from July 30, 2026 through September 15, 2026.
The CCARP will help Putnam County prepare for climate-related challenges by identifying local risks and strategies to build a safer, healthier, and more resilient community. The Plan was developed through a partnership between Putnam County and the Hudson Valley Regional Council and is fully funded by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's Climate Smart Communities Coordinator Services Program.
The draft plan is now available to view online at https://putnamcountyny.gov/ccarp or in print at the Putnam County Planning Department located at 841 Fair St., Carmel, NY 10512, during regular business hours (8am-5pm).
Stakeholder and public input have played a valuable role in shaping the Plan's priorities and recommendations, and continued public feedback is welcomed and encouraged as the County and HVRC work to finalize the Plan.
