We asked our followers on Facebook and Instagram, what is your favorite place to visit in Putnam County, and we got some great responses.

Each month we will want to hear from you on your favorite places to visit (attractions, historical sites, restaurants, shops etc.) and we will highlight them.

Plan a visit to the following followers’ suggestions:

1) Our Local Farmers Markets
From Cold Spring to Patterson, residents can buy everything from baked goods and honey to flowers and other farm wares while also supporting local farmers and small businesses. Putnam’s Farmer Markets provide access to peak seasonal foods while helping to link the community with the region's agricultural roots.

2) Cacciatori Pizza & Pasta

4) Wonder Lake State Park
Converted from a 1920's summer home in the town of Patterson, Wonder Lake is a hiker's delight of 8.6 miles of marked trails. Walk on what were historically bridle trails around scenic Wonder Lake in this 1133 acre area. Get in touch with nature around the 3-acre Laurel Pond. [NOTE: Dogs are permitted on trails on a leash of not more than 10 feet.]

  Tompkins Corner Cultural Center
The Tompkins Corners Cultural Center is a nonprofit organization formed in 2014, located in the historic Tompkins Corners Methodist Church in Putnam Valley, NY.  Their mission is to preserve the historic Tompkins Corners Church and to promote and develop community and cultural interest through the arts and cultural activities open to the public. The culture center holds events throughout the year; concerts, lectures, poetry reads and even farmers markets.
