Health Department Announces Three Public Flu Clinics for Fall

16 August 2024

Three public flu clinics have been announced by the Putnam County Department of Health for Putnam residents, 18 years of age and older. Two drive-thru clinics will be held at the health department offices, 1 Geneva Road in Brewster. The dates are September 23 and October 21; both are Mondays. The third clinic is a walk-up clinic on Wednesday, October 9, at the Garrison Fire Department, 1616 Route 9, in Garrison.

Appointments are required for all clinics and can be made through the online registration system at: https://www.putnamcountyny.gov/fluclinic. Signed consent forms are also necessary and will not be available at the clinics. Before arrival they should be downloaded and completed and presented at the clinic along with proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill. The consent form can be downloaded from: https://www.putnamcountyny.gov/fluclinic#docs

The cost of the vaccine is $30. For individuals, 65 years of age and older, or with a Medicare card, the flu vaccine is free. High-dose flu vaccine will be available for those 65 and older. Short sleeves are necessary for vaccine administration. At the drive-thru clinics residents must always remain in their vehicles for safety reasons and follow the direction of traffic control staff.
